We purchase many products off-the-shelf and don’t expect them to be custom-made to fit our requirements. Nevertheless, websites seem to be a different issue completely. Many businesses expect that their site will be designed to their strict specs. This is perfectly natural of course, and in a lot of business cases it’s unavoidable.

And still – is that really the best way to go about things for all situations? Take e-commerce websites for example : these will feature dozens of modules, with rigorous security necessities, a backoffice area so the website owner can update the content. All these demands, while requiring the website to be effortless to browse and buy products for shoppers. Answering all those needs is no superficial undertaking, and if anything goes wrong, you have to go back to the developer to ask for fixes. Bespoke websites in this way carry a large burden.

Even so, there’s an alternative to this way which is much more cost-effective, can give you a lot more features, and gives more reliability, stability and security – the website template.

People acknowledge these days that custom-made websites often aren’t essential and that in a lot of cases, it’s best to alter your plans even ever-so slightly so they match a robust, well-performing web template than it is to take chances with a bespoke web design to match your goals. So why is this the case though? Due to the complexity a contemporary website asks for. You want a solid, tried and tested template that runs your website, not recently written code that hasn’t been tested. Not just that, but templates commonly come with free updates, so your website is keeping up with all the contemporary technologies presenting your Facebook status on your site.

Maybe the greatest selling point is this however: website templates are far cheaper than custom-made websites. Why spend £5000 on a website when you can obtain one with lots more facilities for only £650, for example?

The above issues ought to cause you to think twice about your online plans and whether to select a custom site or a templated one.

It can be frustrating and confusing to find out what really works for a man’s prostate health. In this article I’ve summarized some of the major guidelines and recommendations you should know. And if you’ve found something that has really worked for you, which you have verified through trial and observation, please let me know. I’d like to be able to share it with others.

First, read the following list of helpful hints related to improved prostate health and benign prostate enlargement.

1. Urinary tract infections (UTI’s) are mostly related to an enlarged prostate. Candida and infections like prostatitis are also related. Candida is a common and insidious condition you should be sure to eliminate. At my website I have a simple self-test for candida.

2. Do pelvic exercises to increase circulation by tightening your pelvic muscles intentionally at least 100 times a day. Raise your awareness of the inner world of your pelvic area. Give separate consideration to your buttocks, lower abdominals, scrotum, urethra, and sphincter.

3. Use Prosperon to raise your testosterone level naturally.

4. Drink plenty of water, every day, to flush out your system.

5. Move to a low animal-protein and grain-rich diet, or some variation on the macrobiotic.

6. Keep your weight in check.

7. Keep a journal in order to track and recognize, as soon as possible, what is working for you, and what is not. Think about your symptoms for yourself; don’t just depend on your doctor!

8. Realize that hormones are hormones and vitamins are vitamins. When his PSA test results were too high, a friend decided to heal himself by doing an anti-parasite treatment. It did no harm, but your prostate has to do with hormones, and needs to be dealt with on this level.

You can’t put fresh oil in your car when you’re out of gas and then wonder why your engine won’t work!

9. Visualize that you are much healthier and that your prostate and urethra function well. Approach your body with love, as it is part of your temple where the soul resides. ACCEPT .

Melatonin: An excellent study done at Tel Aviv University showed that the melatonin receptors in the prostate could suppress prostate enlargement. Researchers found that an enlarged prostate is due to the imbalance of estrogen and testosterone that occurs as we age. They further noted that the excess estrogen also interferes with the normal metabolism of melatonin (J. Clin. Endoc. Metab.

82 (1997) p. 2535 – 41).

Their advice then, is to take 1-3 mg. of melatonin supplement every night. (Stick with this dosage; as with most medicines, more is by no means better.) Take it ONLY in the darkness of night, in order not to interfere with the body’s natural production of melatonin before sunrise. Go to bed by ten o’clock also, to get a good night’s rest.

Good luck, warmly, Pieternel

Epic treadmills have long been on the market and have a large customer base. They can boast a wide rage of features which some people seem to think has taken place over quality. Epic treadmills can now be seen in Costco, where previously Epic treadmills where sold by Icon, a $1 billion company that has substantial resources to develop Epic treadmills and ensure that their design and credibility where taken into account. Some people have labelled Epic treadmills as nothing more than a glorified toy, this being because of the lack of stability within the product. The feel of the epic treadmill when you use it is not as solid as it could be and dose not feel as cushioned as some other products of the market do.

Epic treadmills are also at a disadvantage with being previously sold by Icon. Although Icon is recognised for producing some interesting treadmills, they have been unable to establish a sound reputation. They are known in the market as supplying poor customer service and support, and this has unfortunately been forwarded onto the reputation of the epic treadmill. Another poor marketing ploy for epic treadmills has been that large merchants such as Costco are wrapping up their sale of epic treadmills combined with a television. This dose not support the belief that you are buying a sold, quality treadmill, but instead leads you to believe that you are purchasing something armature. If you are a seasoned athlete and in the market for a treadmill epic treadmills may not be the best buy for you. It is always advisable to research the market beforehand and ensure that you review all products and not just the epic treadmills range.

The greatest mistake a person can make when exercising with children is to treat them like little adults. Children are growing and developing rapidly. This means that certain physiological issues must be considered when they are exercising.

Bone Injuries That Affect Growth When most parents think of children and weight training their first concern is the possibility of it affecting their growth. Contrary to popular belief, weight training will actually improve the bone and muscular systems. It is when children have a lack of qualified supervision that accidents occur. Actually, growth problems are extremely rare when children are given well-designed programs with qualified supervision. In fact, growth problems occur more frequently in dynamic sports such as Tennis, Swimming, and Baseball, than they do in weight training. Another misconception about growth related injuries is that it will happen without you noticing it. It is actually quite painful because you are actually cracking the top of the bone. It will cease the growth in that bone only so if you get this injury in your upper left thigh (femur), only your left femur will stop growing. Your right femur will continue to grow.

Kids Have Higher Heart Rates and Lower Blood Pressure A child has a smaller heart and less blood volume than an adult so the child’s heart compensates by beating more often (per minute). A child’s blood pressure is also less than an adult because this is directly proportional to body size. It reaches adult levels in their late teens.

Children Don’t Perform Well Without Oxygen! Children have a limited ability to perform anaerobic activities due to the limited production of the enzymes required for provide energy in the absence of oxygen.

Keep Kids Cool In The Heat A child’s sweat glands are not yet fully developed so they are less effective at cooling down through evaporation then adults. Make sure they drink lots of water and always exercise in light, cotton clothing.

So which exercise machine is better: the treadmill or the elliptical trainer?

While treadmills are still the #1 piece of home exercise equipment, elliptical trainers are quickly catching up. This leaves many people wondering ‘Should I buy an elliptical trainer or a treadmill?’

While there are definite differences between the two, it really boils down to you – the buyer. This article will lay out the benefits of both the treadmill and the elliptical so you can make an informed decision and choose the best machine for you.

Treadmill Benefits:

Great for runners, walkers and joggers:

The treadmill is still the machine of choice for those who prefer running, jogging or even walking.

It’s obviously a smarter choice for the dedicated runner/jogger than an elliptical trainer. Plus it can help you train even in the winter months when you don’t want to run outside.

Anyone can use it:

Walking is a simple form of exercise that anyone can do – from beginner to seasoned athlete. It doesn’t take much coordination.

You don’t have to be supercoordinated to figure out how to use a treadmill whereas elliptical trainers can sometimes be a little tricky to use – especially for beginners.

Provides workout variety:

A treadmill also provides workout variety of a different kind than the elliptical trainer. A treadmill allows you to walk, run, jog, walk uphill, do intervals and programs. You can even build in upper body handweights to work your arms, back and shoulders.

Elliptical Trainer Benefits:

Lower impact on your joints than a treadmill:

What is interesting is that this lack of impact on the joints allows the user to burn roughly the same amount of calories as treadmills with the impression of putting out considerably less effort.

So you burn the same amount of calories while feeling like you did less work. (This is called the ‘Rate of Perceived Exertion’)

This lower impact also makes the elliptical trainer a great choice for those with knee or hip problems, the elderly or even rehabilitation patients.

Provides an overall body workout:

With the dual-action upper body arms as well as the foot pedals, you are getting an overall total body workout. Whereas the treadmill mostly focuses on the lower body, the elliptical works your entire system for an overall cardiovasculer workout.

Provides workout variety:

One feature that is often overlooked on an elliptical is the opportunity to move in both a forward and backward direction.

When you go backward you are targeting a different set of muscles than when you go forward (hamstrings vs. quadriceps). This helps add variety to your workout and keeps you motivated.

So those are some advantages of both elliptical trainers and treadmills. Is one machine better than the other? It really depends on who you are and what YOU enjoy doing.

Here’s the bottom line:

If you enjoy using a specific exercise machine more than others, you will exercise more often – which means more calories burned, more weight lost and a better body achieved. That is the best exercise machine for you.

One final note: Remember that whichever machine you choose – with exercise equipment you basically get what you pay for. Many people buy cheap equipment and then pay for it later in the form of equipment repairs, joint problems and painful injuries. Make sure you buy a high quality brand name machine with a solid warranty that was built to last.

I often wondered what the value of each type of yoga position is, so I did some research to find out. All yoga positions help to develop strength and flexibility. Yet the type of yoga position that you do also offers some very specific benefits.

Standing Poses

They are included in many poses and they help to align your feet and body. This type of yoga position is especially useful in improving your posture. Standing poses strengthen your legs while simultaneously increasing flexibility in your legs and hips. They add to the mobility of your neck and shoulders and they increase the flexibility in your pelvis and lower back. One of the most basic standing poses is Mountain Pose.

Seated Poses

These poses help increase flexibility in your hips and lower back, while also strengthening your back. They add suppleness to your spine and elasticity to your hips, knees, ankle and groin. They also encourage deeper breathing, which contributes to you feeling calm and peaceful.

Forward Bends

This type of yoga position helps stretch your lower back and hamstrings. Forward bends also release tension in your back, neck, shoulders, and increase the flexibility in your spine. They often promote a sense of calmness. I find forward bends particularly challenging since I have a considerable amount of stiffness in my neck due to an old gymnastics injury. This is the type of yoga position where I often use a prop such as a strap or block.

Back Bends

They open your chest, rib cage, and hips. They strengthen your arms and shoulders, while simultaneously increasing flexibility in your shoulders. They help relieve tension from the front of your body and hips and they also increase spinal stability. You should always do back bends as a complement to forward bends in order to maintain balance in your body.

Balance

Although balance poses can be challenging, I find them to be some of the most fun poses to do. They help you develop muscle tone and coordination and also strength and agility. They help improve your posture because you really need to elongate your spine in order to keep yourself from falling over. This type of yoga position helps train your mind to focus your attention; if your attention if not focused, you will not be able to do the pose.

Twists I love to do twists. Twists release tension in your spine and increase shoulder and hip mobility. They also help relieve backaches by stretching and opening up your back muscles. I often experience tightness in my upper back and twists help me loosen up this area. It is important to always do twists on both sides of your body in order to ensure alignment and balance.

Supine and Prone Poses

Supine poses are done on your back. They help stretch your abdominal muscles, they open your hips, and increase your spinal mobility. They release tension and strengthen your back, arms and legs.

Prone poses are done facing the floor. They strengthen your arms and back and open up your hips and groin. They relieve tension and increase flexibility in your spine. One of my favorite prone poses is Extended Seal because I find it very relaxing and it helps stretch out my shoulders and upper back.

Inversions

This type of yoga position develops strength and stamina, particularly in your upper body. It also increases circulation because since your legs are higher than your heart, it reverses the normal flow of blood. Inversions help pull fluid out of your feet and legs, so they are great to do after you have been standing up for a long time. Advanced inversion poses require a great deal of strength and alignment and should only be learned under the guidance of a certified teacher. People with glaucoma, pregnant women and those who are menstruating should avoid inversion poses.

Relaxation Poses

Relaxation poses are usually done at the end of a yoga practice. They calm your mind and body and encourage a deep feeling of relaxation. This type of yoga position is often one of the most challenging poses to do, particularly for Westerners who often have a difficult time letting go. One of the most well-known relaxation poses is Corpse Pose.

There are hundreds of poses in yoga and they all provide wonderful benefits for your mind and body. By understanding each type of yoga position, you can choose a well rounded practice with asanas from each type or do those that meet your body’s needs at any given time.

(Part 5 of a 5 Part Series on Body Awareness)

I want to tell you how easy it is to workout every day.

But before I begin, I want you to do one thing. I want you to grab your car keys and go out to your garage, carport, or driveway and get into your car.

Put the keys in the ignition and turn. If your car normally works, there should be no surprises here. Your car will start.

Now here’s the important part.

While the car is running, I want you to think about all the possible places you could go to at that moment. The post office, the supermarket, Miami, Cancun. When you have a running car, you can go absolutely anywhere. All you need to do is get it started, then you can decide from there.

When people start an exercise program, the most important skill to develop is to learn how to get started. Just turning the key is often the most difficult thing to do.

Have you ever been overwhelmed by exercise or your exercise program? Maybe you thought you didn’t have enough time to exercise 30 minutes a day. Or maybe you knew that you needed to workout for an hour and all you had was fifteen minutes.

I bet you I know what happened. You put working out off for the next day. I know, because I’ve done it too. The danger of this is that suddenly it is a week later and you still haven’t found the one hour you needed to exercise. This is how many good intentioned people fail with their exercise programs. They think too far in advance and never find the ideal situation for their ideal workout. They get overwhelmed.

Imagine if you could replicate the action you took when you started your car–find a key that would instantly get you going–and apply it to exercise. Could you see how easy that would be?

It would start by, first, not even thinking about the type of exercises you want to do for the day. Forget about “I’ll do 20 min of cardio today,” or “I’ll pop in the gym to do some chest and abs.” What you need to do is simply get a key. Something that will get you moving.

For many people it is a single stretch or exercise that they can do. Once they’ve done the ONE exercise then they can decide where to go from there. Just the same as the possibilities in your car… you can take your workout where ever you want to go once you’ve started.

It’s basically a mind trick.

Your body wants to exercise. In fact, it always wants to exercise. We are naturally and always in motion. Our minds generally out-think our instinct and then we end up on the couch for 4-6 hours watching the USA movie marathon. All the while knowing how much your body wants to move.

So we trick our bodies, by using our key exercise, and once we’re moving we have the option to move more.

Sometimes you won’t move after and you’re body will turn off again and that’s OK. On the other hand, many times you will get going and you will have great workouts.

Why does this work?

Because you’ve put your body in motion. Any motion creates a reaction. Once you are moving then you can decide if you want to continue.

When you never make it to the starting blocks–never get moving–you never have the option to continue or to stop. Just like the car metaphor, I used earlier. If you never start your car, how the heck are you going to get to the grocery store?

When it comes to exercise, it is very easy to out-think your goals. We get into our cars, hope we’ll make it to the store and never turn the key to physically get moving.

It’s really that easy. Find a key. Turn it. Get fit.

When you are overwhelmed about time and energy, you’ll never, never get started. Let your key start you up and succeed with your health and fitness.

Those who are under stress, yet refuse to get help for it, need to understand the relationship between stress & concentration in order to understand why they need to relax. This is because, at first, it seems though stress is an aid to concentration. However, this is not the case in the long term.

Long-term stress & concentration do not go hand-in-hand. In fact, the more that one is stressed, the less able they are to concentrate. However, people often keep themselves under stress in order to help their concentration, despite the fact that it is doing them absolutely no good. Usually, this is because they believe that stress is helping their concentration.

In fact, stress does help concentration for a short period of time. This is because the body is dumping chemicals into the brain to help it focus and throwing adrenaline into the bloodstream in order to heighten the senses. This helps the body hone in on its tasks and helps it to focus. This is, in the beginning, a good thing. Short-term stress really does help your concentration at first, which is very useful when you need to hammer out last-minute paper for school, a report for your boss, or you need to quickly fix some computer problems that are keeping others from getting their work done. Unfortunately, the short-term effects do not last.

As you spend more and more time under stress, your ability to concentrate lessens. The brain will have fired off so many neurons that it cannot replenish its supply of chemicals that helps the neurons fire. As well, that boost of adrenaline that helps people focus will start to heighten the senses to the point where the brain notices every little thing around, causing you to be easily distracted. Thus, the relationship between stress & concentration becomes an inverse relationship.

The problem, of course, is that the more stress you are undergoing, the more you need to concentrate in order to relieve the causes of the stress. This means that your brain is fighting against itself when you need to get work done. This is what we like to refer to as a bad thing and it can seriously injure your ability to get work done. Needless to say, the biggest cause of stress around is the fact that work needs to get done, so stress becomes a self-defeating cycle.

What can you do to escape this damaging relationship between stress & concentration? Well, there are a few things you can do. The best is, of course, to walk away.

That’s right, just stop what you’re doing. Give yourself a break. Put work on hiatus and do something else. Take a walk, get some exercise, make a sandwich, watch an hour of television. Just as long as you are doing something other than work. This will distract your mind from whatever was causing it stress, which is exactly what you need to do. After all, your mind tends to get used to being stressed after a while, making it less able to let go of its concerns. This means that you need to make a conscious effort to clear your mind, and the best way to do that is to clear all the problems out of your head before you drown in them.

If you are not able to walk away for some reason — let’s say that you are at work and the boss doesn’t like to see people leave their desks — you can still relieve stress and help your concentration by performing a quick relaxation exercise. Simply close your eyes (this helps, but it can be done with your eyes open) and take deep breaths. Concentrate on each breath as it fills your lungs, then concentrate on the breath leaving as you exhale. Focus your attention on your breathing until you are paying attention to nothing else. Then, once you are done, you should feel much more relaxed and able to concentrate. If you do not feel better, repeat the exercise until your mind is clear and uncluttered.

The big problem with stress & concentration is the simple fact that stress helps concentration in the short run, but hurts it in the long-run. Unfortunately, most people do not notice this transition from helping to hindering and they simply stay under stress and unable to focus. So when you notice that your mind is racing too fast to allow your brain to focus on anything, walk away or take a few deep breaths in order to calm your mind. Then, you will be able to escape the negative relationship between stress & concentration.

Candida Cleansing

Candida Albicans is a naturally occurring yeast, or fungus, that is commonly found in everybody’s intestines, throat, mouth, genitals and urinary tract. When friendly bacteria and a properly functioning immune system are not present, balance of the system may be lost and Candida overgrowth may occur.

Its overgrowth is thought to be a frequent complication or even a causative factor in many of today’s illnesses. The condition was most widely publicized by Dr. William Crook in his 1983 book, called The Yeast Connection. Other names for this overgrowth of yeast in the body include candida-related complex, polysystemic candidiasis, and chronic candidiasis. Some doctors dismiss the yeast-health connection as another fad but an increasing number of both MD’s and naturopaths are treating Candida overgrowth as a serious infection that deserves attention and treatment.

Someone with an overgrowth of yeast can experience any number of unpleasant symptoms such as a yeast infection, fatigue, rash, depression and anxiety. The symptoms of Candida overgrowth are frequently treated with anti-fungal remedies. Even with these remedies, however, if your diet is not changed to create an environment within the body to prohibit the overgrowth of Candida, relief is sure to be temporary, and problem symptoms will return.

Once you have established that you have a yeast infection there are a variety of dietary changes that you can make to improve your health. Dietary changes are an important part of Candida cleansing.

Refined sugar should be eliminated from your diet entirely as it encourages the growth of yeast. So should fruit and fruit juices – as they contain natural sugars that promote the growth of yeast. Don’t drink beer, wine or liquor as the alcohol also provides sugar, and many of these products are fermented with yeast. Bagels, muffins, pastries, breads and crackers should also be eliminated from the diet as they contain yeast and sugar. Anything with vinegar – which is made with yeast culture – should be avoided as well. Mushrooms should be avoided as should peanuts and peanut butter, cheeses, and meats that are dried, smoked or pickled. Beverages that should be avoided are fermented drinks such as root beer and cider, black tea, and coffee, including decaffeinated.

Both herbal remedies and prescribed medications can be helpful in cleansing the body of yeast. Increasing your intake of raw garlic and soluble fiber will help your body to fight the yeast infection. A supplemental dose of acidophilus will help to make your intestinal track more acidic which helps to kill off the Candida. Other recommended supplements include volatile oils, such as peppermint oil or oregano oil in capsule form as the straight liquid may be toxic, tea tree oil and olive leaf extract. Check with your herbalist as to dose, mode of use and formulations. For antifungal remedies not available over the counter check with your doctor about side effects, costs and availability.

Early in the treatment many people notice a worsening of their symptoms. When the Candida is killed it releases proteins and toxins. This process is known as die-off or the Herxheimer reaction and is temporary. With strict adherence to the diet, and treatment regime the patient will usually begin to notice improvements in two to four weeks.

If you have ever thought about kayaking, consider that the kayak has many exciting benefits, and is much more than just paddling aimlessly on the water.

There are so many kayaking trips and tours available that you can take these days that offer everything from relaxing strolls down your local rivers and lakes, outdoor kayak education tours, to exciting white water adventure excursions.

What can be better than being on a camping trip at your favorite lake, and you have the option to take the entire family on a paddling trip to view the unspoiled scenery and wildlife, or even do some fishing together right from your kayak in areas virtually un-touched by humans.

You may go on an exotic Island vacation, and decide to take a kayaking island adventure, offered through your resort or cruise ship company. What an experience to spend time on the crystal clear water, and be able to take in the sandy beaches, and the spectacular views of your island from the Ocean or Sea.

A Kayaking Experience Can Invigorate Your Body, Mind, And Spirit!

The kayak experience can offer you benefits for your body, mind, and most of all your spirit. Everyone knows that exercise is important for the body, but many don’t stay in shape because the activity they’re currently involved in is boring. When you take a sea adventure, the mind is taking in the surroundings, and you eventually forget that you’re exercising the body, which allows you to spend more time on the water, and feel so much better at the end of the day.

Your mind is not focused on the workout, and you take in all the pleasure around you. This not only calms your mind, but also takes all the stresses away as well. The spirit is rejuvenated, because you’re accomplishing all your goals, such as working your body, strengthening the mind, and letting your spiritual well being grow with what the world has to offer you!

So hopefully you can see that your next kayaking adventure is so much more than paddling a boat, it’s a paddling experience that will fulfill all your personal, mental, and physical needs all in one package. If you happen to be looking into purchasing a kayak, consider for ultimate convenience, an inflatable kayak.

Kayaking Equipment Is Available In A Variety Of Convenient Inflatable Options

Inflatable kayaks have come a long way since their inception, and the quality and price is very favorable for the individual looking for the budget outdoor adventures, or the families wanting affordable options for their relaxing fishing, educational, or overall leisure experience. You will find that compared to the traditional hard shell kayaks, the inflatable boats are very easy to transport, inflate quickly, and you don’t have to acquire bulky trailers or expensive roof racks to haul them to your favorite destinations.

There are many styles and prices that will easily meet everyone’s budget, and whether you’re buying one for your next camping trip, or outdoor extreme adventure, you will definitely find one online that will fit your individual and family needs.

Kayaking can be an experience that you can easily incorporate into your lives, and can open the doors to a wonderful outdoor adventure that can benefit your overall wellbeing. I encourage you to research more on kayaks and see what is best for you and/or your entire family!
