Conference Centre 48
Friday, April 30th, 2010Whilst selecting a function centre for your event consider how it will impact on your brand name. Will the members be impressed? For many conferences you may not think the venue is essential but how essential is your content for the conference & how does the venue reflect that?
Consider not only the brand name of your organisation but the impression on the attendees. Are the key corporate messages reflected in the venue? What about Flair? Don’t hold a conference about quality at a cheap venue. Then use a conference centre that reflects this sentiment.
From the minute the visitors get there, what is their first mental picture? Panache, elegance, high tech? It will set the platform for the conference. The surroundings will influence the work that goes on at a conference. Do you need an outdoors area? How are you balancing these? The ambient sounds at a venue will have an influence. The sound of heels on parquetry conveys different feelings to say a carpeted floor.
Emotions are brought to the surface by smells & things we hear. They remind us of events in our own lives. Does the entrance to the conference need to be impressive? Is it an oily carpark or does your conference require something a bit more great? Is it excellent? What are the ideals you are trying to convey? Does the centre reflect these things?
